Helping support your sustainability goals
Sustainability is more than a goal – it’s a shared responsibility. And with mounting pressure on the construction industry to meet ambitious Net Zero targets, businesses across the sector are looking for practical ways to reduce their environmental impact.
The built environment is responsible for 40% of the UK’s carbon footprint, making sustainable practices essential to the industry's future. We have set our own carbon reduction targets across scopes 1, 2 and 3 and are making progress towards them.
As the UK’s leading civils partner to the construction industry, the Keyline team understand that our choices impact more than just our business. That’s why we’re committed to supporting our customers on their sustainability journey, using our knowledge, resources, and partnerships to help create a more sustainable future for the industry.
Responsible sourcing: transparency across the supply chain
Sustainability starts with responsible sourcing. As part of the Travis Perkins Group, Keyline is committed to improving supply chain transparency and sourcing materials from high-quality, approved suppliers. We assess our suppliers on a risk basis, assessing higher risk suppliers against rigorous standards for quality, ethics, and environmental impact.

By working with Keyline, you can have confidence that the team assesses the impact of materials sourced, helping you meet your own sustainability commitments while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Protecting the environment and social responsibility
We understand that protecting the environment and social responsibility are key concerns for our customers. That’s why our formal and certified environmental management system helps us integrate environmental considerations into our decisions, at every level within the company.
Whether it's reducing waste, conserving resources, or making logistical decisions that benefit the environment, we take our sustainability commitments into account – because we know it’s essential to both our success and yours.
Reducing our carbon footprint
As a FORS Gold-accredited fleet operator, we continuously measure and report our delivery carbon emissions – helping us reduce the environmental impact of our logistics, which in turn reduces our customers’ Scope 3 impacts.
We’ve invested in advanced route planning software to track our vehicles, monitor performance and manage zoned deliveries. This technology helps us reduce emissions and minimise fuel usage, making sure your deliveries arrive with the smallest carbon footprint possible.
We monitor and reduce carbon in our estate as well as operate our estate on a 100% renewable energy tariff and have switched our diesel forklift trucks for electric. Importantly we also measure and manage carbon across our product ranges, helping customers to better understand Scope 3 carbon impacts and offering support through our technical team to help customers to reduce carbon in their projects.
Leading industry discussion
Sustainability goes beyond individual companies – it requires a collaborative approach. By working together, we can be proactive in addressing key environmental challenges that impact the wider construction sector.
For example, we identified an opportunity for the industry to make a difference regarding road runoff pollution, a major contributor to the UK’s water quality problem. Working to raise awareness, we engaged industry leaders and subject experts in a roundtable discussion focused on overcoming challenges and finding solutions.
Since then, we have produced a comprehensive whitepaper on road runoff pollution and started a steering group that continues to address the problem. By participating in these conversations, we aim to support industry-wide improvements that benefit all businesses working towards a more sustainable future.
