Ductile Iron

Ductile Iron is an iron/carbon/silicon alloy. When magnesium is added to the molten iron the graphite forms in spheres rather than in flakes. This transformation virtually eliminates brittleness and produces a strong, ductile material. It is the most versatile pipe material today offering solutions to specific pipeline demands whether determined by the application or the installation requirements. Ductile iron can be used above or below ground, is safe to specify even if future demands change from specifications today.

Ductile iron is suitable for installation in open fields or high traffic load areas and can be laid at a variety of depths. The high material strength minimises the need for imported bedding and surround, hence minimising the impact on the environment.

Valves

Keyline offer a wide range of valves to suit all applications complementing our pressure pipeline offer which services the water, gas and waste water sectors. From design stage to project completion, we work closely with customers to select the appropriate size and arrangement of valve assemblies, as well as the required ancillary products, including stainless steel parts for aggressive environments, specialist sensors, switches, extension spindles and ISO mountings.

Polyethylene Pipes

The advantages of polyethylene pressure pipe systems have been appreciated in the gas and water regulatory bodies for many years. The estimated service life for Polethylene is 100 years or more and once it has reached the end of its life, it can be recycled. Polyethylene pipe systems are manufactured to meet exacting standards imposed by the gas and water bodies.

Mechanical Couplings

Keyline offer a full and extensive range of couplings, flange adaptors and pipe repair solutions to suit water, wastewater, gas and industrial applications. We can offer a range of products that can be used to connect and repair many types of pipe material such as Ductile Iron, Steel and Polyethylene. Fittings can be supplied which are dedicated to specific pipe outside diameters or with a wide tolerance to suit a range of pipe materials and sizes. These fittings can be supplied from 40mm to 5000mm diameter with the standard range of fittings being supplemented with bespoke project solutions.

Penstocks

Stainless Steel and HDPE Penstocks

All Penstocks are made from high quality HDPE materials, stainless steel or a combination of both materials. The materials are corrosion resistant with a longevity and low maintenance cost. The stainless steel 304 or 316 thrust bearing achieves a reduction of the operating moment by a factor of 4. The back plate is made completely from 30mm thick HDPE sheet. This results in a robust construction that ensures free running of the spindle during and after installation. Stainless steel spindle tube instead of a free-standing plastic spindle protection tube contributes to the rigidity of the construction.

Process Pipework

PVC - U - Plasticizer-free polyvinyl chloride offers the best value for money for many applications. PVC-U is also a universal material. Additionally a silicon-free product range is offered, supplemented by silicon-free mountings and screw joints for applications with silicon sensitive media (i.e. water-based paints). Acrylnitrile-Butadiene-Styrene has high impact resistance – even at very low temperatures. The low heat conductivity supports its use in cold and climate-controlled areas. In addition to the range of standard fittings, other components such as silicon-free mountings and screw joints are also offered. ABS pipes and fittings from GF Piping Systems are also offered for cooling equipment as a preinsulated system under the COOL-FIT brand.

Pipework – ABS
Acrylnitrile-Butadiene-Styrene has high impact resistance – even at very low temperatures. The low heat conductivity supports its use in cold and climate-controlled areas. In addition to the range of standard fittings, other components such as silicon-free mountings and screw joints are also offered. ABS pipes and fittings from GF Piping Systems are also offered for cooling equipment as a preinsulated system under the COOL-FIT brand.

Pressure Pipes 

GRP - GRP is widely used within the UK Utilities industry, its lightweight construction and simple jointing methods rapidly increase construction speeds when compared to alternative materials. Its high resistance to UV light, chemical resistance and high loading capacity ensure a long service life. Precast - A proven efficiency for over 100 years which has been used for applications such as: Sea outfalls, Power station cooling water pipework, Sewage pumping mains, Sewage treatment works, Industrial plant pipework.

GRP is widely used within the UK Utilities industry, its lightweight construction and simple jointing methods rapidly increase construction speeds when compared to alternative materials. Its high resistance to UV light, chemical resistance and high loading capacity ensure a long service life.
