The Prostate Cancer Charity
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK; one man dies of prostate cancer every hour. Despite this 70% of adults in the UK do not know what the prostate does.
The Prostate Cancer Charity is the UK’s largest charity looking after men and their families affected by prostate cancer. We are fighting prostate cancer on every front:
• Research - Since 1996 we have invested over £7.4 million on a variety of research programs including prevention and treatment of prostate cancer and the impact of living with prostate cancer
• Support - We provide the only UK-wide prostate cancer Helpline, staffed by prostate cancer specialist nurses. Our nurses offer free and confidential advice to anyone affected by prostate cancer.
• Information - We provide free information, tailored to the needs of men with prostate cancer and their families. All our publications are evidence based, independently reviewed and award winning.
• Campaigning - We are a leading member of the Prostate Cancer Charter for Action, a campaigning body of charities and professional organisations speaking with a common voice. The Charter lobbies for improvements in research investment and the NHS
Our partnership with The Prostate Cancer Charity started in November 2009, initially for two years with the aim of raising awareness of prostate cancer amongst its staff and customers, and raise funds for the Charity through a combination of cause-related marketing and employee fundraising.
The partnership has recently been extended for a further two years until the end of 2013, for more information on the joint activities to help support and raise awareness of the Prostate Cancer Charity, please contact us or visit The Prostate Cancer Charity Website.
